Playing the Piano
For me, playing the piano is more than a hobby; it is the soul's essential expression of beauty and creativity. The intangible is made manifest in music, that timeless, wordless aesthetic comprehensible only in its own language, as the fingers glide gracefully over the keyboard and the body, electrified from head to toe, follows the rhythm of its making. Playing the piano is an experience of expressing that entire glissando of human ideas and emotions -- joy, frustrations, sorrow, or excitement -- and every note, every piece, whether committed to memory or spontaneously composed, is a vision of emancipation, of one breaking free from his own limitations. In playing this instrument, we mortals come closer to approximating the eternal, to that realm that flows beyond our grasp, and the process becomes a dialogue of matter and essence, of form and spirit.
