Why put up this fanlisting?

I applied for this fanlisting from Krissy because, as many of my offline friends can attest, playing the piano comprises a major chunk of my identity. I was a trained pianist/keyboardist; I studied at the Yamaha School of Music when I was seven, and had tutors for individualized instruction until I graduated from high school. :) I was often a staple of school recitals and sometimes recruited to play in bands, or to compose music for class productions. Most importatly, this allowed me to become the Director of our sub-parish music ministry for more than ten years (I started when I was a pre-teen, when I was around 11). I believe it is my mission to serve the Lord in music, for singing is twice praying.

My love for playing this instrument (and all others similar to it -- electric keyboard/organ, clavinova, and the electone) began purely as a response to a strange dream I had in the first grade: that my parents wept profusely when I refused to study piano. *grins* I know it sounds bizarre, but I felt so guilty about disappointing my parents that I went ahead and told them to sign me up. And it was the start of a journey to music and spirituality that I will always be grateful to have.
